OTLEY Rugby Club's juniors have received an award in recognition of their efforts to provide an outstanding service to the community.
Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland, presenting Otley Juniors with the Active Sports Seal of Approval Award, praised the club for its commitment.
He said: "Otley fully deserve this award for all their hard work and commitment to youth rugby.
"It's great that the Rugby Football Union has recognised the hard work and dedication put in by coaches and volunteers."
Chairman of the Otley Juniors Paul Carter, who received the award, said: "This has been the best season in our history and this recognition is the icing on the cake for all the hard work that has been put in."
The award, organised by Community Rugby working with Sport England, is granted to clubs that have displayed a commitment to providing a safe, fun and effective child-friendly environment.
Otley Juniors has also enjoyed a successful season on the pitch, getting two teams to the Gulliver's National Finals at Twickenham and having three of six age groups winning the Yorkshire cup.
Mr Mulholland said: "I hope that this award will spur Otley Juniors to greater success in the future and I hope they keep up the good work in producing excellent young players."
