Work disrupts train schedules

TRACK replacement work will disrupt trains in Wharfedale and Horsforth over the next two Sundays.

Work on the Wharfedale and Airedale lines at Calverley means Leeds services will only run between Ilkley and Guiseley all day on October 14 and 21, with a connecting bus service on to Leeds itself.

Connecting buses will also be brought in on the Harrogate line between Horsforth and Harrogate stations on both Sundays, as track is replaced in the Pannal area.

Rail bosses say trains between Ilkley and Bradford will run as normal.

The replacement buses from Leeds to Guiseley will leave Leeds earlier than advertised, but trains will run between Guiseley and Ilkley at the normal times. Journey times on these services will be extended.

On the Harrogate line, train services between York, Harrogate and Leeds will end at Harrogate and start again from Horsforth, with bus links running between Harrogate and Leeds. These buses will only set down passengers en route to Leeds after Horsforth.

More rail disruption is expected further afield this weekend due to engineering works taking place on other lines.

The West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive advises rail passengers to check its website (www.wymetro.com), telephone the National Rail Enquiry Line on (08457) 484950 or visit the National Rail Enquiries website (www. nationalrail.co.uk) for more information.
