The Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Festivals Champion-ships take place on Saturday, at St Margaret's Church Hall, Horsforth.
This event is staged by the Yorkshire and Humberside region of the British and International Federation of Festivals, the largest organisation of amateur performing arts in the UK and beyond, and entry into the competition is achieved only by nomination.
Only one solo performer in dance, speech and drama and music can be nominated per festival. The championships, of which this is the third, are held every two years and are open to spectators, (admission £5), and tickets are available from the Organiser Mrs Blanche Woollin, (Yorkshire Regional Chairman) at 4 Gilstead Way, Ilkley, LS29 0AE.
Championship spokesman Elizabeth Sharp said: "The three winning champions will each receive a crystal trophy and £100.
"The event runs from 10am to 4pm, and the entire day will be brimful of sparkling entertainment from a large number of mega-talented young performers, aged from eight to over 18."
The three championship prizes will be presented by Baroness Lockwood, who is the president of the Wharfedale Festival of Performing Arts, at Ilkley.
