RAWDON in Bloom members have been out in force helping to keep the area looking attractive.

Volunteers installed a fourth planter next to the A65 along with some small trees.

They also added nourishment to the soil of the three existing planters and then replanted them.

The group's vice chairman Phil Gomersall said: "Rawdon residents will probably have noticed how much brighter the village now looks with all the wonderful daffodil, crocus and permanent planting displays planted over the last three or four years.

"Once again the Rawdon in Bloom is entered in the in Bloom Competition and will be judged in July.

"More bulbs will be planted this year and there are proposals for more permanent planting areas which are now just awaiting council permissions.

"With the above in mind any new volunteers would be most welcome."
