OTLEY will celebrate all things environmentally-friendly at the 2018 Green Fair this weekend.

The event takes place at the Courthouse from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, April 21 and will feature stalls from a variety of groups and charities.

Methods to reduce plastic pollution will be on the agenda and the Town Council will be unveiling its very own contribution to that task - with the launch of the My Otley Cup scheme.

The initiative involves selling a range of reusable, bamboo coffee cups - branded with the MyOtleyCup logo - which the council hopes people will use for refills at cafes.

The cups will be on sale at a stall on the day and are also available from the council's Otley Core office on Orchard Gate.

Two drop-in art workshops for children aged from five to 12, meanwhile, will also feature during the fair between 1pm and 3pm.

One will offer children the chance to get creative for a Global Art Project workshop, while the other will be a Sticker Art session with an environmental theme.

The fair is free to enter and family friendly, and will include an organic cookery demonstration by Riverford Organics from 11am to 12.30pm.

The Courthouse's café will also be serving a special Green Fair menu of vegetarian and vegan food as well as Fairtrade drinks and snacks.
