SIXTH-FORMERS from Guiseley School enjoyed a graduation ceremony when they collected a university

accredited award.

Sixty-five Year 13 students went to Leeds Beckett University on Friday to collect their Progression Module Certificates of Achievement. The scheme enables students to learn essential skills to help them when applying for higher education or employment.

The graduation ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the Headingley campus with each student being presented with their award on stage by Professor Kevin Hylton, Head of the Research Centre for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This was followed by a reception buffet for students and academic staff.

A spokesman for Guiseley School said: "The event was a great success. Many of the students had not expected it to be a formal University award ceremony but were very happy that their achievements had been recognised in this way.

"Congratulations to all of the students who were awarded their certificates. Guiseley School is very proud of your achievement."
