OTLEY Brass Band is preparing to play its first concert under the baton of a new conductor.
Sam Watson, who joined the band in the early summer, has been working hard with the group to prepare for a show at the Kings Hall, Ilkley, on Saturday, October 21.
The concert will see the band supporting Steeton Male Voice Choir at its annual concert.
Mr Watson is a tenor horn player who began his conducting career at the University of Leeds, where he conducted the Brass Band and the Symphonic Wind Orchestra.
He then studied at the University of Huddersfield for a Postgraduate Diploma in performance as a conductor.
He said: "I love working with Otley Brass Band.
"They are a great bunch of players, who are all eager to make some amazing music."
Tickets for the Ilkley show are available from Steeton Male Voice Choir, by ringing Charles on 07704 123176, or online from steetonmvc.co.uk.
They will also be available on the door.
