GUIDE Dogs has raised more than £900 by holding a stall and street collection in Otley.
The charity's Leeds and District fundraising group talked to residents and visitors about its work at the Buttercross on Saturday, September 9.
Among the helpers on the day were a grandfather and grandson who are both visually impaired - Kevin Beesting and nine year old Joe Wilkinson.
Mr Beesting, from Yeadon, has has retinitis pigmentosa which has left him virtually blind. The condition is hereditary and has now affected Joe, from Guiseley, who uses a white cane and will eventually lose his sight.
Although too young to yet have his own guide dog, Joe wanted to help on the day.
He was joined at the stall by family members, friends and other volunteers who sold home-made cakes, gifts and books and ran a tombola.
In total £937.50 was raised, including £243.50 from a street collection.
Thelma Wilson, from the Leeds branch of Guide Dogs, said: "We are extremely grateful to the people of Otley who supported us in spite of the poor weather, and would like to thank everyone who bought from the stall and contributed to the street collection."
