FLIGHTS to Iceland's second city are being launched from Leeds Bradford Airport.
The airport is one of the first in the country to fly direct to Akureyri in Northern Iceland - just 60 km from the Arctic Circle.
The new flights, which will take off for the first time in February 2018, will be available as part of a package with Super Break.
Travellers will be offered the chance to look for the Northern Lights - as well as visiting a volcano, embarking on a lava walk, or going to a beer spa.
The Goddafoss Waterfall, the boiling mud pools of Namafjall and the Myvatn Nature Baths are some of the attractions on offer, along with whale watching and Icelandic horse riding.
Emma Holliday, Aviation Sales Manager at LBA, said: "This trip will be such a special opportunity for holidaymakers from across Yorkshire to explore an amazing part of the world. We’re sure it’ll be a popular choice for people wanting a short break with a difference and we look forward to welcoming people in February as they depart for Akureyri – a brand new destination for LBA."
