CHILDREN from nine local schools have had their road safety knowledge tested in Otley.
Primary school pupils from across Wharfedale and Aireborough took part in the 2017 Otley and District Junior Schools Road Safety Quiz.
The event was held at Otley Methodist Church on Thursday, June 15 when Otley and District Road Safety Committee Chairman Dave Robson put teams of five through their paces.
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Otley emerged triumphant with Otley All Saints C of E Primary taking second place and Tranmere Park, at Guiseley securing third spot.
The pupil with the highest score, Charlotte Rawstron, was also from St Joseph's and received the Audrey Cartwright Star Trophy.
Mrs Cartwright, an Honorary Citizen of Otley, was involved in promoting road safety in the area for more than 50 years until her death in 2010.
Every child who took part in this year's safety quiz also received a book token presented - with the prizes - by Town Mayor Councillor Nigel Francis and his Consort, son Callum.
