WHARFEDALE residents can find out all about the art of beekeeping in Otley this Spring.
New evening classes covering everything from how to fill a hive through to extracting wax and honey will begin at Prince Henry's Grammar School on Monday, April 24.
Led by tutor, chemistry teacher and experienced beekeeper Vas Koritsas, the ten week course will include a mixture of classroom-based lessons and practical sessions on Otley Chevin.
Assistant Headteacher: Learning Community at Prince Henry's, Christopher Lillington, said: "This is a great opportunity to learn about beekeeping in a very practical way, with some lessons in classrooms as well.
"Bee Keeping is growing in popularity in the UK and people can learn from a real expert in just ten weeks."
The course - classes run from 7pm to 9pm - costs £58 with concessions available, and participants should have a beekeeper suit.
