AN OTLEY Town Councillor has taken part in a long-distance anti-fracking march.
Cllr Mick Bradley (Green, Danefield) joined other local Green Party members on the third day of the No Fracking Way walk last Friday, March 10.
The five day walk, from Kirby Misperton near Pickering to the Cuadrilla Preston New Road fracking site, near Blackpool, was led by the Green Party's Energy spokesman, Kirklees Councillor Andrew Cooper.
Cllr Bradley, who walked the Askwith Moor to Colne section, said: "By the end of almost 20 miles, most on road, my
legs were aching and those who completed the whole march on Sunday all deserve gold medals!
"I doubt any other national party energy spokesperson would take on the challenge but that's how strongly Andrew
Cooper feels about the damage fracking will do to the environment."
