A LOCAL cycling club has voted a Washburn Valley cafe as its 'best of the year'.
The Washburn Heritage Centre's cafe, in Fewston, was singled out by Knaresborough Cycling Club due to its 'delicious' cakes and friendly, volunteer staff.
The club's members visit more than 20 different cafes each year during their various Sunday rides, but plumped for the Fewston one as their favourite of 2016.
Chairman of the Washburn Heritage Centre's Management Committee, Sally Robinson, said: "Given that we know cyclists love their cake, this is a great honour for us and a just reward for the cheerful hard work of the volunteers."
