THE aisle at St Margaret’s Church, Ilkley will be the setting for a catwalk of bridal wear and bespoke millinery as the church opens its doors to host the We Love Weddings Fayre to tie in with Valentine’s Day.

At 1pm on Saturday, February 11, a dozen volunteer models will glide down the aisle to live music wearing new and pre-loved wedding dresses, bridesmaids and flower girl dresses or handmade hats, thanks to two local businesses, the newly-established Diamond Bride, and By Betty Hats.

Exhibition space has been offered free of charge by the fayre to support new, small scale and local wedding businesses. The organisers are hoping as many soon to be married couples and their friends and families will attend the wedding event.

Rt Revd Dr Toby Howarth Bishop of Bradford said: "The Church of England wants to support and encourage marriage, so running a free Weddings Fayre is one of the ways we can bless couples who are preparing for their big day. The Fayre is also a celebration of the great variety of God-given talent and craftsmanship that exists in our local area. As a church, we are firmly committed to great weddings and great marriages."

The We love Weddings Fayre takes place at St Margaret’s Church, Queen’s Road, Ilkley, LS29 9QL on Saturday February 11, 11am to 3pm. Free to attend, free glass of Prosecco and goody bag on arrival whilst stocks last.
