THE SWINGING sounds of the Sixties will be ringing around an Otley school next month.
Prince Henry's Grammar School will present 7pm performances of Hairspray, based on the hit Broadway musical, from Wednesday, February 1 to Friday, February 3.
Set at the start of the Sixties, the show uses humour and a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack to explore the changing world of TV and race relations.
The school cast will perform hit numbers including You Can’t Stop the Beat, Welcome to the Sixties, I can Hear the Bells, Without Love and I Know Where I’ve Been on the night.
Dancers from Prince Henry's will also be shimmying across the stage to the music of the Show Band.
Tickets cost £8 for adults or £6 for concessions and children and are available from the school reception, where payment can be by cash or cheque, made payable to Prince Henry's Grammar School.
The production is funded entirely by ticket sales and is open to all - for more details call (01943) 463524.
