A BURST water main caused heavy traffic jams at Pool-in-Wharfedale this week.
The pipe burst on Tuesday evening on the A658 Main Street beside its busy junction - and roundabout - with the A659 Arthington Lane.
The incident saw temporary traffic lights set up as Yorkshire Water investigated, which led to lengthy queues.
The disruption continued into Wednesday as the company carried out repairs but the road is expected to be open as normal again by Thursday, January 19.
A Yorkshire Water spokesman said: "We hope to remove the temporary traffic lights on Thursday and fully re-open the road.
"We'd like to thanks commuters and residents for their patience whist the lights have been in place to enable us to excavate and repair a burst water main on Main Street.
"The final repair process is to backfill the road which we will be completing on Wednesday."
