A FALLEN tree caused severe traffic problems for morning commuters travelling near Otley, Pool-in-Wharfedale and Bramhope today.
The tree was knocked over by strong winds in the early hours of Wednesday, near the Dyneley Arms pub, on the A660, and the road's busy junction with the A658 Pool Bank New Road.
The incident at the crossroads caused long tailbacks on the A660 Leeds Road, westbound, for several hours until the debris was cleared just after 10am.
Several other felled trees also caused problems locally, including one on Otley's Newall Carr Road, near its junction with Croft Avenue, which temporarily blocked the road and one at Bingley Road in Menston.
Delays were also reported on train services due to overhead line problems.
