SCHOOLBOY Bailey Elliot has seen his art work featured on a Christmas card after winning an MP's competition.

Ten-year-old Bailey won the 2016 competition, with a design depicting a shepherd following the Star of Bethlehem to the scene of the Nativity.

The Rufford Park Primary School pupil was presented with an award by Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland and his design featured on the MP's Christmas card, which was delivered to homes in the constituency. Year six children from every primary school in Leeds North West had been invited to enter.

Mr Mulholland said: "It was a real pleasure to present the first prize to Bailey this year and to show him his winning design on the card.

"The standard of entries was really high this year, and it was tough to settle on a winner, but Bailey’s design stood out and makes a beautiful Christmas card.

"So congratulations to Bailey and a big thank you to all those who entered and to their teachers for encouraging them to do so, as well as to all of the volunteers who helped us with our deliveries."
