GUISELEY-based JM Glendinning Financial Services has acquired Baildon firm Precedo Financial Consultancy.

The move will see Precedo founder and managing director Andrew Pyrah and graduate trainee Jonathan Sharp join the team to offer specialist financial advice to people aged over 55.

JM Glendinning managing director Nigel Stallworthy said: "Having worked with Andrew for the last two years to provide later life financial advice to our clients, we saw an opportunity to formally offer these specialist services as part of our service portfolio."

He added: "We are also very keen to offer apprenticeships and graduate trainee opportunities in financial services. The fact that a number of banks and building societies have stopped offering financial advice in recent years is limiting opportunities for graduates, and we see huge value in bringing the right people into the business and offering them a clear, fully supported career path."
