FOLLOWING on from the success of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's tweed jacket and scarf a stylish cap has now been added to the collection.

The limited edition unisex cap, made from the same iconic Great Yorkshire tweed featuring the Society's green and gold, is available from Fodder, the Society's shop and cafe at the Great Yorkshire showground, Eric Spencer's in Ilkley and Clarksons in York.

Nigel Pulling the Society’s Chief Executive said: “The success of the men’s jackets and scarves has been amazing, they have been snapped up by people the length and breadth of the country and were a sell out at the Great Yorkshire Show. It has also prompted requests for additional garments to be included so we commissioned the caps and for next year we are also planning to add women’s jackets to the range. An additional benefit is that the proceeds from the sales all go towards the Society’s work supporting agriculture in the region.”

The cloth has again been woven by Abraham Moon and Sons in Guiseley, Leeds and the caps have been made in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

The idea for the Great Yorkshire tweed came from discussions with Keighley-based tailors Brook Taverner. Their elegant and high quality men’s clothing has been an integral part of the popular Great Yorkshire fashion shows for many years, and the company also supports the event as a sponsor.
