WELL known for supporting regional artists, The Flying Duck in Ilkley is the venue for the work of local fine art and contemporary painter Tony Dexter.

Tony’s work, which by and large depicts a variety of sea related images, is created in bold, colourful acrylic on 76cm x 76cm canvas.

“My work sells because it is different, vibrant and in the right setting it is stunning," said Tony. "Equally the subject matter is distinctive in style and viewpoint allowing the viewer to add their own interpretation. At exhibitions I often light-heartedly suggest to visitors that they should buy my work to cover the magnolia. But, in reality, they acquire it because they like it – hence the domain of my website – www.ilikethat.me."

The Flying Duck will exhibit Tony’s work from October through the Christmas period and into the New Year. Manager Nick McNeice said: “Many local residents know that The Duck is the home to the successful Wharfedale Brewery with the brew house on site. Yet as part of the community, we also like to champion local events and local people and we are delighted to do this. We hold regular exhibitions and Tony’s work is a continuation of our approach."
