A FIVE year old boy is being treated for facial injuries after being attacked by a dog.

The boy was bitten by the English bull terrier on Albert Mount in Horsforth at 6.11pm yesterday.

He was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance for treatment to wounds to his face and leg.

Police said today that his injuries are not considered life threatening and the boy is continuing to receive treatment in hospital today.

Officers seized the dog from a nearby address.

A 52-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control and is currently in custody.

One neighbour described "blood-curdling screams" of the boy as he was being attacked.
