STUDENTS and staff at Guiseley School are celebrating exam success with some excellent A level results,

The school says many students achieved outstanding grades and were now going on to top universities, including Durham, York, Nottingham, Bath, Newcastle, Lancaster and Liverpool, with some taking up apprenticeships and college courses.

The results were described as "superb" and as a reflection on the hard work by both students and staff throughout the year.

In a statement the school said: "A number of our students achieved outstanding results achieving A*-A grades in all their exams. They are George Birss, Jack Thornton, Daniel Western, and Sasha Ollerenshaw.

"The following students also performed extremely well at this level. They are Natalie Ainsworth, James Blaby, Laura Chapman, Will Houghton, Abigail Madden, Simon Osler, Rebecca Smith, James Tate, Katya Van Noort, Sean Watts, Katherine Fisher, Elinor Jones, Beth Murray, Susannah Smith, and Dan Whitaker."

Guiseley School Headteacher Paul Morrissey said: "We are delighted today to see that so many of our students have been able to secure their further education or training destination of choice. We are very proud of them and their grades and congratulate them on what they have achieved. We wish all students every success for the future."
