JOYS of English country gardens and outer space were celebrated at this year's Otley Carnival.
Large crowds lined the streets on Saturday to cheer on a colourful parade that featured aliens and astronauts, giant tea sets, superheroes and dragons.
The procession was packed with imaginatively decorated floats, vehicles and walking groups, and was hailed by steward and councillor Colin Campbell (Lib Dem, Otley and Yeadon) as "one of the best".
Rousing music from a string of bands, including a very popular performance from Otley Ukulele Orchestra on their float, also got residents and visitors into the carnival spirit.
The fun continued at the Carnival Field at Bridge End, where the crowds were treated to an H&M Fire dogs display, fairground rides, giant inflatables and more.
