ST ANDREW'S Church at Blubberhouses, near Otley, is holding a free three-day bank holiday Flower Festival to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.

The Flower Festival 'Long to reign over us" is open from 10am-4pm on Saturday, May 28, on Sunday, May 29 and on Monday, May 30, and will feature a record of the Queen's life and reign artistically displayed in floral arrangements.

Some of the displays will be in the traditional style of the period. Bolton Priory are creating a pedestal 'Sandringham' from the 1920s and other floral works of art celebrate the Queen's leadership of the Commonwealth, her wedding and coronation as well as the crown jewels, Balmoral and the Golden Jubilee. The Young Farmers Club is creating a Fountain of Honour.

Tea and home made cakes will be served on all three days and there will be a preview evening with wine and nibbles at £5 on Friday, May 27 at 7pm, with tickets available on the door, or from Daphne on 01943 880268, Pat on 01943 880284 and Alison on 01943 880192.
