A CHARITY walk is being organised in Horsforth to help local groups raise funds.

Aireborough Rotary Club's event will take place on May 14 and will start and finish in the grounds of Leeds Trinity University.

Everyone taking part will choose the charity or project they want to walk for, and they will keep all the sponsorship money they raise.

To get everyone involved, there will be three options – a short buggy-friendly walk and treasure hunt in the university's grounds, a 5km walk around Horsforth entirely on pavements and a longer walk of about 10km, taking in a stretch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath.

Both the medium and long walks will be entirely on made footpaths. They will be buggy and wheelchair accessible and will include a picture quiz. Sponsor forms are available for each walker and there will be certificates on completion. There are also lottery draws for a free Leeds Trinity six-week gym membership for an adult and a free day pass to a Leeds Trinity Activity Summer Camp for a child.

There will be car parking, refreshments and toilet facilities at the start and finish, with start control open between 9.30am and 10.30am and finish control closing at 2pm.

Costs are free for under-fives, £2 for under-16s and £4 for over-16s, with a £10 family ticket for two adults and two children or one adult and up to four children..
