COLLECTIONS in aid of flood relief will be held when Little Shop Of Horrors is performed at Yeadon Town Hall.

Money will be raised for the Wharfe Valley Flood Appeal at the performances, which are being staged by Yeadon Amateur, Operatic and Dramatic Society.

A spokesman for the group said rehearsals are going well under the direction of Paul Chewins and musical director, Anthony Martin.

He said when the cast heard all the performances would help raise money for the flood appeal, they said they would give their best and hoped the public would also give their best by turning up.

Little Shop Of Horrors will be staged at Yeadon Town Hall at 7.15pm from March 8 to 12, with a 2.15pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets are available online at yaods.org.uk or from the box office on 07468 107304.

A spokesman said: "In this gleefully gruesome musical, Seymour, a poor florist's assistant, allows his craving for fame and fortune to seduce him into playing nursemaid to a man-eating plant.

"Goings-on surrounding the growing plant's demand for more, more, more are accompanied by witty parodies of 60s music. Between bites, the carnivorous Audrey II, named after Seymour's secret love, brings down the house singing rhythm and blues à la Otis Reading or James Brown."
