AN AMATEUR dramatic group is doing its bit to help people who have been affected by flooding.

Yeadon Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society has invited fundraisers from the Wharfe Valley Flood Appeal to hold collections at its latest production.

The Little Shop Of Horrors will be staged at Yeadon Town Hall from March 8 to 12, with performances at 7.15pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm.

YAODS vice-chairman, Malcolm Kleiman, said collections will be held at all the performances and the theatrical group will also add its own donation.

The appeal was set up by Niki Taylor in Otley after the town was badly hit by Boxing Day flooding. It raised more than £4,000 within days, including a £1,000 donation from Otley Lions.

It has also been publicly supported by Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland.

Heavy rain saw the River Wharfe rise from its typical level of 0.6 metres in Otley to two metres on Boxing Day.
