A MULTI-AWARD winning Otley firm has picked up a major new prize.

Communications agency Words&Pictures was the class winner for Most Innovative Use of Media at the national Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC) Awards in London last week.

The company beat off stiff competition from a number of UK agencies to win the award for We, DLG - a social platform developed with insurance company Direct Line Group.

A digital, work-based social community, We, DLG is managed and edited by Words&Pictures with the content produced by Direct Line Group employees.

Head of Campaigns and Delivery at Direct Line Group, Cathy Banks,said: “We, DLG works alongside other channels in the business and allows our people to read and interact with content across the business in a seamless way.

"The collaboration with Words&Pictures has been fantastic. We’re delighted with the award."

Creative Director at Words&Pictures, Andy Holt, added: "We’ve had a close and long-standing relationship with Direct Line Group and We, DLG is at the very apex of this collaboration.

"This is a channel which significantly advances the way in which internal communications is perceived, both within and beyond the industry."

The Otley-based firm also won a second award of excellence at the ceremony for its work on Cheers, an internal magazine produced for Carlsberg UK.

Words&Pictures awards tally now stands at 150, achieved over 15 years.
