AN ITALIAN restaurant business is to open up a second outlet in Otley.

Buon Apps, which has been running at Wharfebank Business Centre for nearly 13 years, will run the new venture at the 235-home Garnett Wharfe development.

The riverside restaurant, which will include an al fresco dining area, will be run by Alessandro and Elena Sofia and Alessandro's brother, Vittorio, while they continue to manage their original eatery.

Alessandro, the owner and director of Buon Apps, said: "Elena and I feel like our dreams have come true with the purchase of our new premises, where we will continue to offer our fresh, authentic Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting, with picturesque riverside views.

"We will retain our Italian heritage by bringing in our Italian architects and designers to work with us, ensuring our new restaurant both complements, and is complemented by, the surrounding area."

The new restaurant is due to open in February, 2017.

Plans are also in place to create a visitor centre and office space at Garnett Wharfe, which has been built by David Wilson Homes on the former Garnett paper mill site.

David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West development director, David Coe, said: "We’re thrilled to be welcoming Buon Apps to Garnett Wharfe.

"This is such a popular restaurant and I am convinced it will continue to grow as a favourite of people all over West Yorkshire.

"Alessandro and Elena’s commitment to sourcing local food, attention to detail and approach to sustainability fits perfectly into our vision for the Garnett Wharfe site, and we look forward to welcoming the Buon Apps team onsite during the coming months."
