SENIOR players at Aire-Wharfe League club Rawdon have been given jumpers by the Guiseley branch of estate agents Manning Stainton.

Branch manager Clare Frieze – an appropriate name for the early part of the season – said: "Apart from the past couple of weeks, the weather has hardly been fit for cricket, so hopefully the new jumpers will help keep out the cold.

"It is really difficult for clubs like Rawdon and other groups to generate the income needed to prosper, which is why as a business we are always keen to help wherever we can, and acknowledge the vital job they are doing for the youth in our community."

Manning Stainton donated nearly £100,000 to good causes last year. The contribution was recognised at the 2014 Estate Agency of the Year Awards, when the firm received the award for corporate social responsibility.

Lawrence Walker, a member of the club’s cricket committee, added: "The support of firms like Manning Stainton, along with our own fund-raising initiatives, is critical to the future of the club."
