YORKSHIRE artist Alister Colley, recently announced as the UK’s 2015 Best Selling Artist by the Fine Art Trade Guild, returns to ‘Gods Own County’ for his first exhibition of original paintings in nearly two years.

With a ‘Four Seasons’ collection of iconic and childhood inspired Yorkshire landmarks, Alister has being drawing further inspiration from his home county for his latest release of work. As an international best-selling artist, Alister has been invited and is exhibiting his work in galleries all over the world, yet has chosen the prestigious auction house Tennants, in Leyburn, as the perfect venue to launch his new collection.

Commitments to other projects over the past two years, including the prestigious role of the first ever official artist of the Tour de France Grand Départ, meant that Alister had little time to focus on producing his own volume of work. But a project in association with The Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn, scheduled for September 2, 2015, has meant Alister has had the opportunity to put paint on canvas once again to produce a stunning new collection of original work, which will be unveiled exclusively at Tennants.

"I have missed the process of totally losing myself in painting for the sake of painting, I often produce my best work this way and I think these four paintings are the best I have produced to date," said Alister. "It’s not often what you envisage in your head as an idea can always be translated successfully to paper; with these paintings of Yorkshire’s most famous landmarks I think I have really succeeded in a very close interpretation."

Alister’s further dedication to Tennants has meant that these four original paintings will be available at the launch of the collection. In the past Alister’s paintings have been sold prior to an exhibition launch as there is in excess of a two year waiting list for his original paintings. However, in this instance, Alister felt it important that on an occasion such as this it should be a first come first served option.

"I felt it important that I allow Tennants the chance to have four original paintings actually available but also that the chance to purchase these originals is available to anyone," he said.

Alister has also been invited to give a talk entitled ‘Drawing Inspiration’ which will precede the ‘Private view’ on September 2; there is an admission to the talk and with very limited places available it is advised you book as quickly as possible. The admission to the talk ‘Drawing Inspiration’ will also include admission to the Private view which follows. Alister will be discussing his career and efforts that have led him on his journey to becoming the UK Best-selling artist for nearly six years, as well as the resulting success of his burgeoning art publishing company, Zeitgeist Fine Art.

The Garden Rooms at Tennants, in association with Zeitgeist Fine Art, will be presenting the ‘Zeitgeist Yorkshire Artists Exhibition’ September 2 to 16. As well as Alister Colley exclusively releasing his newest original paintings on this prestigious occasion, the exhibition will also premiere the new collections of his three protegés; Izzy Hodge, Kate Hunt and Joseph Hayton. These three represent Yorkshire’s most prominent up and coming artists, each creating waves in the art world with their meticulous dedication to their discipline.

With the support of The Garden Rooms at Tennants, Zeitgeist Fine Art is further confirming its developing place in the contemporary art market. The future looks bright for all three emerging artists to emulate Alister Colley’s position in the UK.

The ‘Zeitgeist Yorkshire Artists’ movement has also captured the imagination of the American contemporary art market, as all four artists have been invited to produce collections of original work to exhibit in New York from 2016 onwards.
