YEADON'S newly refurbished library has re-opened this week.

The library, which is now also a one stop shop, was closed at the beginning of April to allow for a major revamp.

It was originally due to re-open on June 15 but work was delayed by problems which included damp and dry rot. The library's lift will be installed in about two weeks.

Otley and Yeadon councillor Colin Campbell said: "It's great to see the library reopened and the new furnishings and fittings make it much more user friendly. I would like to thank the Methodist Church for letting The Council use their hall as a temporary library and the staff for all the work they have done to get the building ready for opening this morning.

"This refurbished building will be an asset for all local residents and the new one stop facility will mean easier access to a whole range of Council services."
