A NINE year old boy is celebrating landing a role in a hit TV show – just two months after starting drama classes in Ilkley.

Yousef Naseer appears in five episodes of the second season of FX TV series Tyrant, which has just aired in America and is likely to be shown here next year.

Yousef, from Manningham in Bradford, was flown out to the Hungarian captial, Budapest, for the filming and enjoyed 'five star' treatment.

He had been attending classes at Articulate Speech, Drama & Casting in Ilkley on a Saturday morning for just over eight weeks when the owner, Stacey Burrows, asked him to audition for the show.

She said: "Yousef works extremely hard in drama classes each week and is a very talented young boy, but I was blown away by his audition piece.

"Unlike the usual casting process, he was offered the role by leading casting directors in London after only one audition.

"Yousef was delighted with the offer and said he couldn't quite believe it, while his parents, who are both very supportive, were also thrilled with the news."

Yousef and his father, Mo, flew out to Budapest for filming, principally on a set made to resemble a whole village.

The young actor described the experience as "amazing".

He added: "I was put up in five star hotels, chauffeured to different filming locations, had one-to-one school tuition so I didn't fall behind, and had my own caravan trailer to chill in.

"I also got to do what I love most, acting, with some sensational British and American actors."
