AN OTLEY nursery has marked its tenth birthday with a celebratory barbecue.

The Little Green Frog Nursery, at Ashfield Primary School, invited families along to the event which included live piano music from parent Mark Wilkinson.

Among the guests were the Taylors - who were the first to enquire about places at Green Frog ten years ago. Their children, Matthew and Lauren, went on to attend the nursery during its opening week.

Nursery owner Ruth Johnson said: "It felt very special to be surrounded by so many of our children and families, past and present.

"It has been an absolute joy to see them grow over the years and I am looking forward to the next decade."

A special birthday present of 'u-nu', a preschool construction toy invented by Ruth's husband, David Veron, was also presented to Eva Johnson.

Eva's name had been drawn from a hat by special guest Beth Wilkinson, who was one of the very first babies to attend the nursery.

The anniversary cake meanwhile, created by Otley business Patisserie Viennoise and featuring a little green frog, was cut by a group of nursery 'graduates'.
