CAMPAIGNERS fighting to save Farnley C of E Primary School are urging residents to have their say while they still can.
The deadline for responses to the school's closure plan, which is being proposed by governors due to falling pupil numbers and concerns over finance and obtaining "secure leadership", is Friday, July 24.
Responses can be made online at http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/article/23998/Childrens-services---consultations .
The More School Places for Otley - Keep Farnley School Open campaign, meanwhile, has questioned the validity of the consultation process and says it is concerned about the short timescale given and the lack of local MP involvement.
It has also sent an open letter to Pete Dwyer, the Corporate Director Children and Young People’s Services at North Yorkshire County Council, offering to meet and work with the governors and council to find a way to keep the school running.
More details on the campaign can be found on its Facebook page or by sending an e-mail to savefarnleyschool@yahoo.com .
