POLICE have released more details about serious crash on the A65 at Draughton on Saturday morning.

The collision occurred at around 8am and involved two cars, a red Volkswagen Up and a white Isuzu D-Max Utah.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 23-year-old woman from Draughton, was taken by air ambulance to the Leeds General Infirmary where she remains in a serious condition.

The Isuzu driver, a 34-year-old man from Clapham, was taken to Airedale Hospital, Steeton, with minor injuries. He was released later that day.

The road was closed in both directions while investigations were conducted at the scene and to allow the vehicles to be recovered. It was reopened at 2pm.
