MORE street collectors are being sought for this year's Otley Carnival.

The annual fundraising extravaganza, featuring a parade through town followed by stalls and games at the Bridge End carnival field, takes place on Saturday, June 20.

This year's event will include colourful floats and walking groups along with an eclectic mix of music including everything from the City of Leeds Pipe Band to Drums Agogo.

Donations received on the day will be split between the 2015 carnival's three beneficiaries - Martin House Children's Hospice, Singing for the Brain at Otley Courthouse, and Pool-in-Wharfedale Youth Club.

The carnival committee is hoping more people will step forward to collect for those good causes - and enjoy donning some fancy dress for the occasion.

A spokesman said: "Please help us raise funds for this year’s beneficiaries.

"The street collector wearing the best fancy dress, and those who collect the most money, will also receive prizes."

Anyone wishing to join the parade, wearing fancy dress, and collect is asked to meet at Wharfedale Farmers Auction Mart, on Leeds Road, by noon on June 20. For more details call Ann Steval on (01943) 466995.
