TEENAGERS tried their hands at fading, looping and scratching when they had a day of DJ lessons.

DJ School UK spent a day with a group of Year Nine Guiseley School students who were interested in learning the techniques involved.

In the morning students were given detailed instructions and learnt how to fade, loop and beat match as well as identify the structure of different tracks. They spent the afternoon finding tracks they liked and then practised mixing, cross fading, and scratching. At the end of the day they performed their re-mixed version.

A spokeswoman said: "The instructors were very impressed with our students, their ambitious attempts at creating their mixes and their conscientious and creative work ethic."

The teenagers will be able to use the event as evidence towards their Year Nine Bronze Arts Award which they are working towards.
