WHARFEDALE Male Voice Choir had a surprise when an Australian visitor dropped in to their regular rehearsal session – and led them in a spirited rendition of Waltzing Matilda.
The choir, which meets each Monday afternoon in the Catholic Hall at Burley, recently welcomed Pat Brodison, who came along with regular choir member, Terry Williams.
Mr Brodison sings with his own choir, Bunbury Men of Song, in Australia.
He spent a very enjoyable time helping the Burley choir to rehearse for its forthcoming concerts at Wilsden and at the Burley Parish Church.
Terry has also been to Australia and helped with the Men of Song there.
Pat is in Wharfedale to trace past and present members of his family but was delighted to be able to lead the Burley choir in Australia’s best known song.
