THESPIANS and theatre-goers are enjoying a newly refurbished bar area in their theatre following a donation by councillors.
The refurbishment of Guiseley Theatre’s Offenbach room has been supported by £4,245 from the Outer North West Community Committee’s wellbeing budget.
The work, which was backed by Guiseley Amateur Operatic Society, included improvements to the flooring, panelling, curtains and general redecoration.
Councillor Paul Wadsworth, the chairman of the Outer North West Community Committee, said: “I’m delighted that we could support this extremely worthwhile project. Guiseley Theatre is a terrific venue and has a long history. The newly refurbished Offenbach room looks great, and I’m sure it will continue to serve the local community well for many years to come.”
Guiseley and Rawdon councillor Graham Latty said: “As a Friend of Guiseley Theatre I am delighted." that this wonderful asset has been refurbished to a very high standard. I am pleased that I was able to support their application for funding to the Outer North West Community Committee, and I am sure that everyone who visits the theatre in the future will appreciate the new range of facilities.”
