A COUNCILLOR has welcomed thousands of pounds of funding for free counselling sessions and crèche facilities, at Horsforth Children’s Centre.
A total of £8,382 has been agreed for the service by Leeds City Council’s North West outer community committee meeting.
The centre has been running similar sessions since 2010, with 79 per cent of recipients reporting improved mental health.
Cllr Dawn Collins said: “The counselling sessions have proved to be successful in the past. Providing the crèche facilities is key to this success.
“Parents can continue to access the support they need, safe in the knowledge their children are being safely looked after while they are there.
“I am extremely pleased to give this funding my backing.”
