AN OTLEY school’s rugby team is celebrating making it to the final of the Yorkshire Cup.

The under 15 team at Prince Henry’s Grammar School reached the ultimate stage of the competition in emphatic style, beating Crossley Heath School 40-5 in the semi-final.

The final takes place on March 21, and coach and area leader in PE at Prince Henry’s, Dean Hyam, said: “From 1 to 20 the lads were outstanding. They showed that Henry’s ‘til I Die spirit that will hopefully take them through to win the cup.

“We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but with the sort of team spirit and culture we have now created we can look forward to the final.”

In other good sporting news, the school has also heard that two of their AASE rugby students, Sam Allen and Max Wright, have been picked for the England U18 rugby squad.
