A CAMPAIGN has been launched to encourage more touring coach companies to include Otley on their itineraries.
Otley Town Partnership has teamed up with Otley Business Improvement District (BID), the chamber of trade and the town council on the scheme.
The initiative has involved sending out a specially commissioned flier, extolling the virtues of the town, to more than 50 coach companies.
The leaflet highlights the TV shows that have been made in and around Otley, along with its popular landmarks, riverside walks, shopping facilities and markets. It also includes food vouchers that can be used in local cafes and takeaway shops, as a further incentive for the coach drivers.
Peter Heald, of Otley BID, said: “The scheme will allow the Partnership to monitor the number of coach parties visiting Otley and hopefully the cafes can benefit as the coach drivers use their establishments and recommend them to passengers.”
