CREATIVE writing students from Leeds Trinity University are celebrating their first book deal.

Gill Lambert, Maria Preston and Hannah Stone, who are MA students at the Horsforth-based university, are the authors of An After-Dinner’s Sleep.

Due for release tomorrow the book is a collection of diverse poems that have been described as ‘funny, wistful, moving and, at times, deceptively simple’ by Leeds author and poet, Mark Connors.

The collection marks the beginning of a significant collaboration between Leeds Trinity University and Indigo Dreams Publishing, which is this year’s recipient of the prestigious Ted Slade Award for Services to Poetry.

Hannah said: “I’m thrilled to be a poet associated with such a vibrant publishing house before I even graduate.” An After Dinner’s-Sleep and Close as Second Skins will be launched at an event on February 25 at Medusa Bar in Horsforth. Starting at 7.30pm, the event is free and will feature performances from all authors, along with Joanne Ezekiel, the author of The Inside-Out House also published by Indigo Dreams Publishing.
