YOUNG people in Pool-in-Wharfedale are helping a charity send 100 gift shoe boxes to children in need this Christmas.
Pupils from Pool Church of England Primary, supported by their families, filled the containers with everything from toys and pens to toothbrushes and soap.
Their donations, to Samaritan’s Purse UK’s Operation Christmas Child Appeal, will be delivered to children across the world who would otherwise have nothing to open on December 25.
Some of the Pool schoolchildren even donated their pocket money to help cover the delivery costs of their shoe box.
Samaritan’s Purse UK is an international relief and development organisation that works through local churches to help communities in need around the world.
