A BUTCHER from Otley has picked up another prize for the quality of his products.
Weegmanns Butchers was named beefburger category winner at this year’s Great Yorkshire Pork Pie, Sausage and Products Competition at Bradford last weekend.
The Otley shop has picked up many accolades, and butcher Howard Carver was delighted to add to the tally.
He said: “It’s a really great award to win, as you feel as if you’re doing it right.”
Organised by the Confederation of Yorkshire Butchers Councils, the competition is in its 26th year and is Yorkshire’s premier product evaluation event.
It features three pork pie classes and three sausage classes. Supreme champions and reserve supreme champions will be crowned from the two main pie and sausage classes, with the sausage champion also qualifying for the national Champion of Champions competition.
