A “MAGICAL” parade of handmade lanterns is set to add an extra twinkle to this year’s Otley Victorian Fair.

The event, featuring a Christmas market, choirs, fairground attractions and, of course, plenty of people in period dress, takes place this year on Sunday, December 7.

Running from noon to 6pm, the fair always draws in thousands of visitors who are keen to see the festive season ushered in in style – and to sample some of the delicious street food, including roast chestnuts on offer.

The event’s committee has teamed up with Otley Courthouse and local firm Handmade Parade to stage the paper lantern parade, which will feature the result of several creative workshops.

Starting at 4.30pm the procession will include all the children and adults who were involved.
