GUISELEY School head teacher Paul Morrissey said the school has "enjoyed pleasing exam results despite the changes being seen within the examination system".

He said: "Summer 2014 sees the vast majority of our students achieving 5 or more higher grades (A*-C.) Every student in year 11 has left school with a qualification.

“Our GCSE results this year indicate our determination to maintain standards in the face of a changing examination landscape. Students, teachers, parents/carers and governors have continued to work together to produce good results this year.

"The school is very proud of some outstanding individual performances with results that are a real credit to our community. We are full of confidence that these young people will enjoy continued success as they move onto the next phases of their careers, many choosing to stay on in our own sixth form."

He added: "We wish all of our students well."

Students who were particularly successful at Guiseley School this year include James Tate, Sasha Ollerenshaw, Joseph Allison, James Blaby, Alexander Briggs, Katherine Fisher, Emily Brooks, Laura Chapman, Elinor Jones, Ross Kirtland, Isabelle Hill, Ella Mortimer, Beth Murray, Tom Pritchard, Isobel Smith, Susannah Smith, Jack Thornton, Katya Van Noort and Dan Whitaker.
