THE scoreboard held a special message for former Yorkshire cricketer Keith Gillhouley when he marked his 80th birthday by watching his county play.
Mr Gillhouley, who lives in Guiseley, was wished a very public happy birthday when he attended the Yorkshire v Worcestershire one day cup at Headingley last week.
Mr Gillhouley’s daughter Kim Kelly said: “The sun was shining, Yorkshire won and there was a special birthday message on the scoreboard for Dad. He met up with friends and former teammates.
“We had a family meal afterwards and dad said he couldn’t imagine a better day.”
Mr Gillhouley described playing cricket for Yorkshire as a “dream come true”.
Born in Huddersfield, on August 8, 1934, he was a slow left arm bowler and right-handed batsman.
